We provide details of our Privacy Policy and Collection Statement to you as we believe
confidentiality to be extremely important and imperative if we are to provide you with a

NATIONAL PRIVACY PRINCIPLES

The National Privacy Principles established by The Privacy Act 1988 as amended, apply to
Cranston McEachern Lawyers.

PERSONAL INFORMATION HELD

Personal information that we collect and hold on your behalf usually falls into the following
categories, depending upon the legal matter for which you have requested our:-

* Client information in connection with file management which include your name, contact
details;
* Business history, employment history, business associations, salary and work performance;
* Other general and individual personal information submitted; and
* Financial information.

PURPOSE

We primarily hold personal information for the following reasons:-

* To provide professional legal assistance;
* To contact you in the course of obtaining instructions;
* Client and business relationship management; and
* Marketing to you in relation to developments in our practice.

DISCLOSURE

We may disclose your personal information for the purpose for which it is primarily held or for
a related secondary purpose, including information provided to the government, courts,
barristers, and any interested third parties. We will only disclose your information to such
parties in the course of undertaking, and carrying out, your instructions. We may disclose your
personal information where we are under a legal duty to do so, such as compulsory accounting
and Law Society Audits.

CONTRACTORS AND OTHER PROFESSIONALS

We contract out occasional services from time to time when necessary. In the course of their
work our contractors may see some of your personal information. Typically our contractors
would include, but are not limited to, the following:-

* Information Technology contractors/technicians; and
* Database designers and accountants;

Also we may engage other professionals in relation to your matter. These may include the
following:-

* Doctors;
* Other medical specialists;
* Private investigators;
* Process servers;
* Forensic accountants; and
* Valuers

ACCESS

Subject to some exceptions that are set out in the National Privacy Principles, you can gain
access to the personal information we hold about you, update it, complete it, or correct it if it is
inaccurate. We do refuse access if it would interfere with the privacy rights of other persons, or
if it breaches any confidentiality that attaches to that information.

If you wish to obtain access to your personal information you should contact our Privacy
Co-ordinator (details as below). You will need to verify your identity. We might impose a
moderate charge in providing access if the materials are archived off site. Our Privacy
Co-ordinator would discuss these with you. You should also anticipate that it may take a little
time to process your application for access, as there may be a need to retrieve information
from storage, and review information in order to determine what information may be provided.
